Strategic cooperation and sustainable development

The Mattei Plan Area of the Colletta European Consulting firm is dedicated to technical and strategic consultancy for the implementation of the interventions envisaged by the Mattei Plan for Africa, the new foreign policy and economic cooperation instrument promoted by the Italian Government to strengthen the partnership with African countries, in line with the objectives of the European Union and the United Nations 2030 Agenda.

The Firm supports public entities, businesses, development agencies, foundations, and multilateral organizations in the design, implementation, and management of initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable development, industrial cooperation, energy transition, and socioeconomic inclusion in African contexts.

Main Activities:

Strategic analysis and identification of priority

Study of the political, economic and regulatory context in African partner countries, identification of investment and cooperation opportunities in key sectors (energy, agriculture, training, infrastructure, health, digitalisation).

Design and management of cooperation programs

Technical assistance for the structuring of projects co-financed by Italian instruments (Italian Climate Fund, Development Cooperation), European (NDICI – Global Europe, Team Europe, EDF), multilateral (World Bank, AfDB) or public-private partnerships.

Economic diplomacy and institutional relations

Support for dialogue between African stakeholders, Italian and European institutional actors, businesses and foundations to promote economic integration, energy security and the creation of qualified employment.

Assistance on blended finance and impact investing tools

Consultancy on innovative financial mechanisms for the mobilization of private capital in projects with social and environmental impact, in collaboration with development banks and platforms European countries.

Training and capacity building in partner countries

Design and management of institutional strengthening interventions, skills transfer, academic cooperation and technical-professional exchanges between Italy, the EU and African countries.
